Joel Arthur Rosenthal aka JAR: A Living Legend

One of my favorite Jewelers and one of my idles is JAR, Joel Arthur Rosenthal. His inventive style and his pursuit of excellence in his work and his micro pave setting, have made him a living legend. In fact, he is the only living jeweler who is having an exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has created a small collection of jewelry for the museum which will be for sale until the close of the exhibition on March 9. JAR makes jewels that repeatedly earn two to three times their estimates at auctions. His pieces are rare. He makes about 60 to 80 pieces a year and people wait years to purchase a piece of JAR jewelry. If you are going to be in New York City, I highly recommend seeing his work.
