Custom Made Engagement Ring With Heirloom Diamonds And A New Diamond

Alex's fiancé was recommended to me by his sister-in-law, and my customer, Bianca. He wanted to propose with a surprise custom made engagement ring. Alex and her fiancé live in Rhode Island so after he contacted me, he sent a few images of Alex along with snap shots of her hand. Both him and Bianca knew that Alex likes a thin diamond band and she prefers a cushion cut diamond. Alex's fiancé was also going to bring his mother's diamond cluster ring so we can incorporate diamonds from the heirloom ring into the new engagement ring. With all the information that I had, I looked for the appropriate cushion cut diamonds and brought in two choices. Alex's fiance came in with Bianca and brought his mother's diamond cluster ring. Here's an image of the ring: Given Alex's hand structure and the fact that she likes a thin diamond band, we decided to use two of the diamonds from the heirloom ring and have them set in on either side of the center cushion cut diamond. Once Alex's fiancé picked the center stone, a gorgeous GIA certified 1.02 carat cushion cut diamond with E color, I took out a few diamonds from the cluster ring and picked out two that best matched the center cushion cut diamond. Here are the three chosen center stones. I sketched a very clean and dainty design showing a thin diamond band and the three center stones and emailed it to Alex's fiancé in Rhode Island.
