Ella is a breath of fresh air! An incredibly delightful person with a great sense of humor!
Most of my clients come in for a surprise engagement ring, however Ella and her equally delightful fiancé came in together. So I got to meet Ella, see her hand and she had the chance to describe what kind of an engagement ring she wants. She loved the idea of my signature “Britt Kiss” engagement ring and she wanted something feminine, girly, floral and definitely different!
I needed to make The Kiss would look more like the petals of a flower and make the ring feminine and contemporary at the same time.
I first brought in a few diamonds for Ella to look at and choose from. Of course she picked the brightest and happiest diamond, a 0.40 carat round brilliant cut diamond with G color, VS1 clarity, with GIA certificate!
Now that I had the measurements of the diamond, I first made the top flower section with the petals in proportion to the stone. Ella wanted the band to be very refined. So next, I made the ring section. I rounded the top and created a very soft pinch coming towards the center which would give it a beautiful pop! Only one side of the band there’s a small bead-set brilliant cut diamond on top.
Here’s a three-quarter view showing the small diamond on one side of the band:
Here’s a side view showing how the band rises up and hold the floating flower!
Here’s an image of Ella’s hand wearing her adorable ring!
Ella and her now fiancé had planned on having their ceremony overseas where their families live, so I really had only about two and a half weeks to complete this ring! Everything worked out as pleasantly and smoothly as Ella and her fiancé’s personalities!
Congratulations to an absolutely adorable couple. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to meet you both. Ella, I absolutely love your engagement ring and your idea of having the tiny diamond only on one side. Your ring is a fantastic representation of you, elegant, fun, creative and very happy! Enjoy it!
I wish you both the best!
