Kathryn engagement ring is regal, refined and as custom made as it gets! Even the emeralds are custom cut for the halo!
Kahryn's ring was a surprise engagement ring. Her fiancé to-be, had the idea to have an Asscher cut center diamond and a halo that would be set with emeralds. Based on the images of rings that he brought and Kathryn's pictures, I suggested to float the center diamond within the halo. This would air out the design versus making a one-piece, stiff looking center with attached halo. A more up-dated look that would also be more suitable for Kathryn's hand structure.
Once Anant picked out the center Asscher cut diamond, I started making the ring which was going to be in platinum. I made the ring in couple of pieces to get a beautiful polish inside of the halo. Once the pieces were polished and assembled, I had the stone cutter, custom cut and set each emerald to fit into the space that I had provided in the halo:

This is one of the most difficult and time consuming settings, specially with emerald stones, as they are soft and can break easily while cutting and setting.
Once the halo was completed, I had six diamonds bead set on each side of the band:

I have made the sides of the ring flush so that the wedding band will fit right next to it:

Anant popped the question to Kathryn and surprised her with this gorgeous ring! When they both came in to have the ring sized, as we weren't certain of Kathryn's finger size initially, one look at Kathryn's gorgeous green eyes and I knew that was the perfect engagement ring for her!
Congratulations to both of you!
