Audra’s ring is a surprise engagement ring! Her fiancé to-be wanted to have a sapphire engagement ring with diamonds. First, I brought a few sapphires to look at and choose from. Joe chose my favorite one from the sapphires that I had brought! A gorgeous cushion cut Ceylon sapphire weighing 2.44 carats. We went through the images of Audra that Joe showed me, which is something that I always ask for, and among the images were a couple showing her hand. Audra’s hand had a very smooth and clean look. This is a hand that needed a very elegant and clean design, and definitely sweet and interesting!
Based on Audra’s hand structure and the shape of the sapphire, I suggested pear shape diamonds for the sides. The design that I sketched and eventually made, has an elegant and timeless top view with a very interesting and clean side view. I decided to end the base of the prongs, holding the sapphire, within the basket and open up underneath the pear shape side baskets that hold the pears. This gives a very clean and uncomplicated side view to the ring and, in the future, the wedding band will sit flush next to the engagement ring!

Audra and Joe are now engaged and this gorgeous ring is on Audra’s hand, where it belongs!
Congratulations to a lovely couple!
