Family diamond gets a stunning new setting

When Steve and I were engaged, my grandmother gave me her gorgeous diamond engagement ring. The ring was given to her by my grandfather, also named Steve, in the 50s. In many ways my Steve reminds my family and me of my grandfather, so although he passed on and they never met, I like to think they share some sort of bond. Suffice it to say, this is a very special diamond to me.

Steve and I decided to have the diamond reset in a unique setting that echoed its vintage past and our personalities. When we met with Cynthia, I felt that she understood me and my vision for the ring. Besides which, she is so incredibly warm, kind, and quick to laugh that I knew we had our jeweler match! I had no idea of the amount of detail that goes into creating a custom piece and the entire design process was definitely the most fun thing about planning my wedding. If I had millions, I would have Cynthia make me things all the time!

The final piece is without a doubt a work of art. The balance and proportions suit my hand and my diamond beautifully. The leaves are intricate and make the rose gold really light up. The prongs are part of the vintagey element–very art deco–they remind me of the Chrysler building. People literally gasp when they look at my ring! And they all have to examine it up close, too; there’s something about the detail and the unusual setting that makes you want to see it again and again. I must admit I gaze at it when no one’s looking.

My grandmother and grandfather showed up in my dream the other night, and when I showed them my ring my grandfather got out his enormous magnifying glass to get a better look! I kid you not! I can’t wait to show it to my grandmother in person.

I can’t recommend Cynthia enough for all things jewelry. She has impeccable taste, her

workmanship is flawless, and she is a joy to work with. Cynthia, thank you thank you thank you!

From far and away

I’ve had to edit this several times so it does not become a tome about how wonderful Cynthia is and what an amazing gift she has for design! I instantly felt a bond with Cynthia in our first meeting and was totally comfortable leaving my wedding ring with her. Despite 10 years of wear, Cynthia perfectly revived it to its former glory by resetting stones, re-polishing and re-engraving it. In fact, she studied it and advised me on where the stone or ring was weak so it could withstand the knocking around it gets nowadays. After that was done, she worked with me to design an anniversary band. I left the design to her and she did not disappoint. She came up with some options and I loved one of them. She worked on it with me until I was perfectly happy with it. What I appreciate is that she explained her artistic perspective on why she made certain design decisions so I could understand the ring on that level and how it paired with my wedding ring. The band was created in patient stages until it was perfect. I love wearing it and often wear it alone because of its comfort and beauty. Cynthia worked so hard on it and her eye for detail is unmatched. I didn’t have to worry about a thing.

Now, did I mention I live in California?! Yes, Cynthia was able to work with me from across the country and still give me this ring I adore in a timely manner. She brings such artistry and personal connection to each creation. If I ever need anything else, I would consider no one else! Hmmm…our next anniversary isn’t that far off

Gigi Pendant

Cynthia is so talented and creative. I had a half pair of a diamond earring and bought this great ring that was being sold by a young gentleman. it was his grandmothers ring so I wanted it to put it to good use. Cynthia came up with the idea of a pendant. it looks awesome. i already received several compliments. I’m waiting to get a black velvet chain to wear with it, I think it will look stunning. Cynthia is very talented and has great ideas i would recommend if you had valuable jewelery that you wanted to do something different with she is the one to go to!!! Very impressive!

Diamond Ring Turned Into A Pendant

Cynthia was incredibly kind and helpful in helping me sell my late mother’s engagement ring, which had a lot of meaning for me, and transformed the piece into a beautiful pendant that went to a great home. Her patience and consideration during the process was great, and her abilities as a designer are many.

Beautiful and Unique Wedding Ring

While looking for engagement rings my (now) husband and I came across this lovely antique looking ring in a small jewelry store near our home. It had a wheat pattern etched into the side and two little diamonds that sat below the main diamond; I fell in love with it right away! The store didn’t sell a matching band for it though, so we figured we’d be just shop around and find something suitable, but after months of looking through jewelry stores all over Massachusetts nothing seemed right. I wanted a band that would compliment the wheat pattern and fit closely against the side of the engagement ring, but because the little diamonds stuck out the wedding band would have to have some kind of an indentation. Finally, we decided we’d just have to get the ring custom made, and that’s when I found Cynthia!

I was a little nervous abut working with a custom jeweler at first after running into some overbearing jewelers during our wedding band search, but Cynthia was totally the opposite! She was so easy to work with; very personable and knowledgeable, and really interested in creating something that you loved and was a good design. Cynthia and I talked about what I was looking for, and after taking measurements of my engagement ring and discussing what I liked and didn’t like from other ring designs, she came up with a great idea to have a leaf shape with multiple indentations around it…that way even if the ring spun around the little diamond in my engagement ring would easily find a place to rest. Then she designed a variation on the wheat pattern to be etched in each leaf shape that complemented the band of the engagement ring. Her attention to detail was perfect, she figured out exactly how to size the leaves so they fit equally around the band and even thought to leave the bottom un-etched so if I ever need to have the ring re-sized it will be easy to do so. The end result was a beautiful ring that looks equally good both with my engagement ring and on it’s own, and perfectly fits my taste in jewelry!

She also helped my husband choose his wedding band. He just wanted a plain gold band but he wasn’t sure what kind of width would look right on his hand. Cynthia went out of her way to get some different sized bands he could try on and she helped him choose a size and shape.

I’d highly recommend Cynthia to anyone looking for a custom piece of jewelry! She’s a pleasure to work with and my husband and I will definitely be back for any of our jewelry needs!
